Brian and Genise from the Blackgate Distillery have produced this entirely handmade liqueur by twice infusing their own vodka base with locally sourced native Quandong fruit. It shows a surprising complexity with rich, honey sweetness balanced with a subtle bitterness and a lovely deep amber colour.
Black Gate Distillery was opened by Brian and Genise Hollingworth in Mendooran, NSW in January 2012. Genise and Brian have travelled throughout NSW, Tasmania, Scotland and Ireland researching and gaining knowledge in the art of distilling high quality liquors and liqueurs. They are working diligently on their own Rum and Single Malt which are now maturing in ex sherry casks. We have tried their rum and the early signs are good! We hear they are also busy beavering away on a honey bourbon style whisky.. We will wait patiently!
