History and Production
Cockatoo Grove is a family owned grove operating since 1996 on a bend of the Murray River in Cobram, Victoria. The property is home to approximately 25,000 trees of Italian variety, predominantly Frantoio and Corregiola varieties.
Handling and Storage
Heat, light and air are the enemies of quality of olive oil. The moment an olive is picked from the tree its quality is deteriorating. The Cockatoo Grove is unusual in having its own pressing facilities on the property and so promises a four hour harvest to processing promise which means exceptionally high quality oil. Amfora stores all its products in a temperature and light controlled controlled environment, even using argon (an inert gas) where required to form a 'blanket' over the product, ensuring air cannot come into contact with it, helping ensure it reaches you as it was intended.
