Canadian Maple Syrup and Espresso Liqueur combine here to create one of the best examples of the distiller's art. You simply have to taste this with a quality vanilla pod ice cream softened and floating on the surface. It is truly a great spirit served as a simple affogato, drunk neat or with a white or black Russian cocktail to show how good a coffee liqueur can be in a cocktail!
Definitely not your average coffee style liqueur and we say that is no bad thing. Apparently we're not the only ones who think so too as we've just learned it was awarded in this years Australian Distilling Awards too!
Meet the Maker
The Dobson's Distillery is a perfectly formed micro-distillery in the New England plains, Kentucky, NSW. At over a kilometre above sea level and with some of the purest rainfall around here Stephen Dobson, the master distiller experiments, pushing the envelope of distilling. The results are some spectacular liqueurs, spirits and bitters - a must try made by a man obsessed with the perfect distilled creation!
Don't take our words for it, they have just achieved Silver for Dobson's Gin (we may have to get some!!) and awarded at this years Australian Distilling Awards.
“Living ones dream is a mantra for me, forging the co-incidences that have led me to this place at this time, has been my lifelong concern… I am a misfit, a radical, a visionary....but after all that is who Dobson's is brewed for.”
-Stephen Dobson, Master Distiller
Of course this is beautiful neat with ice but also fantastic over ice cream or in a white or black Russian cocktail. For a simple but stunning cocktail, take 5 parts vodka to 2 parts Le Caf Liqueur and add to a long glass with ice already added. For a white Russian, add 3 parts fresh cream, adding the cream last and gently stirring.
Or for a simple one, try three shots of Le Caf with 1 shot of fresh cream - cream and coffee, never a bad thing!
